how do you manage your awesome skin tone shading? are you dropping shadows of strokes and fuzzing them out?

No, just airbrushing... I start with a base midtone, and then I tend to use multiply-brown for shadows instead of black, so it doesn't get muddy... and pull it back up with white or peach.

Sometimes I mask for the nose, but in this example I didn't. I'm recoloring this even as we speak (er, type) and you'll probably see a difference (hopefully in a good way).

So tired. But enjoying the coloring.
